Last Caller To LoraBBS
══════════════════════
TacoSoft 1996
Sometimes I Wondered Who was the last caller to my (Lora) BBS, I wrote a
piece of batchfile wich could be called by pressing a functionkey, but that
wasn't what I was loking foor, so I looked for a Place where I could show
the Logon time of the last caller I Received.
Well,at the 'waiting for call' screen there was,and is no place, maybe
Marco can make an option in future versions to do so, but until than,
this smooth little util (Wich Is Freeware) does what I want, showing the
logon time and name of the last caller at the screen, and guess where ?
At the 'modem' screen ! The place where modemstrings, send to the modem
are shown,at the screen is a NEW line when you use this program, showing
the logon time and name of the last human caller.
So let it be Very, very clear,so that NO-ONE will flame me for this :
THIS PROGRAM TAMPERS WITH YOUR CONFIGURATION FILE (CONFIG.BBS) SO,BEFORE
EXPERIMENTING AROUND,MAKE A BACKUP OF THAT FILE FIRST!!!!!!
(Don't say I didn't warn you!)
What It Does :
The LoraBBS Configuaration file does have Three (3) lines for the
modem initialisation strings, I don't use them all,and I don't think
most of us are using more than 2 lines to get their modem ready to
receive (some) caller(s).
So I thought this program could take LINE1 (INIT) to show the information
at the screen the second and Third line are still free for use, you can
find this modem strings at the configuration menu, than choose 'modem' and
pick 'command strings' , as you can see, there are 3 Lines wich could be
used for your initstrings, but in case you don't need them all, make the
first one free, and use only line 2 and 3 for you initstring(s).
Line 1 Will be used (and Changed) by this program,so when LoraBBS Init's
the modem again, the line written in this field is shown to the screen.
If you start this program, the last caller will be read from the file
wich is caled LASTCALL.BBS (Only reading,no writing to THAT file),after
that ,it reads the CONFIG.BBS,and write's the first line, like this :
atz|~ 00:00 : Caller Name |
So The 'ATZ' command is always added at the first line, after that, the
logon time is shown, and the name of the last human caller.
Test :
When you wish to test this program please do like this :
1) CREATE A BACKUP OF YOUR CONFIG.BBS !
2) Copy LST2LORA to your main LoraBBS Directorie.
3) Start LST2LORA from that directorie.
4) Start LoraBBS (Or LSetup), goto Modem > Command Strings,
and Voila! The last caller is in the first Init String.
5) Start LoraBBS, and see that the last caller is shown in the
Modem screen.
When you are sure this is what you want, make sure somewhere in your
'aftercaller' batchfile to call this program,so that each and every
caller to your BBS is always shown at the modem screen !
Have fun,and if you have any questions, don't hasitate to ask them !
